Red Faction: Armageddon to be Released May 31st

without comments

I, for one, rather enjoyed Guerilla, though I really don’t play it as much as I should. I haven’t even beaten the single player… the multiplayer got some good use, that’s for sure. The GeoMod 2.0 easily made the game as good as it is, though. There’s nothing more satisfying than taking down an entire building with your trusty sledge, to have it crumble on top of someone.

September 20th Release Date for Gears Of War 3

without comments

First, it was supposed to release in April. Then it got a really vague “Fall 2011″ release. Now, we finally have an official release date for Gears of War 3, scheduled for September 20th. Still, quite a while away, but it’s nice to have a solid date rather than an estimate.

No word on the release for the beta that was included with Bulletstorm… hopefully that’s soon, though it will give quite a gigantic buffer before the actual game is released. Color me excited. Sexually.

I’m still waiting to hear about a special/collector’s/limited edition before I preorder, however. It’s been rumored that they’ll [EPIC] will be going all-out for this limited, if there is even one, somewhat in the vain of the recent Call of Duty special editions. Different “levels” of the editions? Collectible items? Figures? We’ll see. I’m hoping so.

And so are you.

inFAMOUS 2, To Be Released June 7th, 2011

without comments

I only just recently completed my first playthrough of the first inFAMOUS, but I’ve been waiting to hear the release date for the second. After seeing some of the videos, the graphics look vastly improved, as does the gameplay… which is tight. And also sweet. So swight (see what I did?), in fact, that I actually marked this date on my calendar.

‘Primal Carnage’ is Everything I Want in a Game… Possibly More

with 2 comments

After watching the trailer for this game, I realized something.

My life is empty.

However, Primal Carnage comes in to fill any and all voids of emptiness within said life of mine. It will manage to do this by pitting humans and dinosaurs against each other. However, this ain’t some pansy-ass Jurassic Park bullshit we’re talkin’ ’bout here.

Bulletstorm’s “Epic Edition” = Gears of War 3 Beta

with one comment

For me, it’s pretty safe to say that I will almost definitely be getting this, solely for the Gears of War 3 beta.

But it’s also safe to say I’m pretty interested in Bulletstorm anyway. On top of the Gears of War 3 “morningbird” guaranteed beta access, the Epic Edition will include some bonuses for use in multiplayer: 25,000 EXP (not sure how much this will actually be worth in the game at this point), “visual upgrades” for the leash, Peace Maker Carbine, boots, and armor.

The Epic Edition will retail for $60 USD (the same as a normally-priced new game, unlike the Gears of War limited editions, which were at $70), and will be available in the US on February 22nd for PC, Xbox 360, and PS3. Obviously, only the Xbox 360 version will include the Gears of War 3 beta; compare the Xbox “Epic” edition, to the PC’s and PS3′s “Limited” editions. Coincidence? You be the judge.

(I think not!)

News: Deus Ex: Human Revolution Delayed

without comments

Originally planned for March, Deus Ex: Human Revolution has been pushed back until at least April. Sounds like it is a result of the recent critical reception of some Square Enix titles. I’m all for companies realizing that good reviews do indeed equal strong brands and sales in the long run, if not in the short.

Also, there are just too many games released these days that delays are becoming welcome news to me. My stack of unplayed games is haunting my dreams.

News: Elder Scrolls V Using New In-House Engine

without comments

Headline says it all, really. Although it was rumored that Bethesda might use the Tech 5 engine from id, that has proven false. Thank whoever it is that you thank though that they are not continuing to use the atrocious Gamebyro engine, which will hopefully suffer horribly where ever it is you believe machinations of pure contempt suffer.

News: PS3 Mass Effect Fans Rejoice

with one comment

Not only will there be a Mass Effect 2 demo released next week on the Playstation Network, but Mass Effect 3 will be simultaneously released on the 360, PS3, and PC. I suppose that officially makes it a ‘real’ multiplatform series. Huzzah?
