Zombies Ate My Neighbors: The Movie

without comments

So, yeah. This is happening. It’s been years and years and years since I even remember the actual game, but from what I hear this will only be a loose adaptation of the game. This basically means another zombie movie. So far, there doesn’t seem to be anything special about it.

Zombies Ate My Neighbors is an independent production written by John Darko, and produced by Darko, April Wade and Ahmed al Baker. The film is still in the process of securing rights and finding a director and financiers.

I’m getting fairly worn out with zombies as of late. There have been a few gems recently, Zombieland being the best example I can think of at the moment, but I’m just not feeling much for this one right now. But it seems we still have a while.

Like you know, whatever.

with 2 comments

I recently got to play the Bulletstorm demo on Xbox LIVE, and while I feel I may be TOO excited for a game like this… well, I’m pretty excited.

Review: Rabbit Hole

with one comment

When a child dies, communities go into mourning. Parents are flooded with condolences. There are candlelight vigils and public memorials. People exist in this strange limbo of disbelief, somewhere between celebrating life and grieving intensely. But afterwards, people inevitably forget. You take your trips to the grocery store and the bank. And life goes on. But for the parents of those children, things don’t come so easily. That’s the subject of John Cameron Mitchell’s “Rabbit Hole,” a delicate and raw look at how we cope with loss.

Review: The King’s Speech

without comments

Few countries are better able to understand what it’s like going to war with a leader who can’t speak publicly than a post-George Bush America. But as the prospect of a second world war loomed over Europe, Great Britain knew all too well.

Review: The Fighter

without comments

I’ve never been one for inspirational sports movies. Come to think of it, I’ve never been a fan of Mark Wahlberg, either. But I didn’t want to let either of those factors ruin my viewing of David O’Russell’s “The Fighter,” which has scored 6 Golden globe nominations. I don’t think they did. But saying just that- that the film is an inspirational sports movie starring Mark Wahlberg- tells you almost everything you need to know about it.

First Video from ‘Captain America’

It’s 6 seconds of behind the scenes footage from a promo on ET. Sure, it’s only 6 seconds… but it’s better than nothing, right?

… right??

Welllll, 50% off of $x.99 is actually $(x – (x+1)/2 )+ 0.995, which should round up to $(x+1)/2… but I digress.

Best of 2010, though? You decide.

Review: NBA Jam (2010)

with one comment

Unlike many people I know, I didn’t grow up playing the original NBA Jam on the Genesis, SNES, or even any of the arcade versions. I knew the basic idea: over-the-top, two-on-two basketball. Out of the major, professional sports, basketball is probably my favorite. And for a “sports” game, which I usually stay away from, I really couldn’t stay away from this one.

Review: Tron Legacy

with one comment

Tron Legacy

I’m guessing I will not be the only one to review Tron Legacy. Well, certainly not the only one ever… although I have been wrong before. I meant that a bit more locally, however. Anywho, lets start this.

Pros:

  • Amazing look
  • Amazing sound
  • Jeff Bridges and Bruce Boxleitner
  • To a lesser extent: Garrett Hedlund and Olivia Wilde
  • The second half of the movie

Cons:

  • The first half of the movie
  • Most of the supporting actors’ performances
  • Dry execution of many aspects
